Many mobile auto detailers and car washes use or filtered water and air conditioning, no water stains on the means to ensure that they are clean. Improve the process and speed of cleaning and provides excellent results. Some just go with a water softening system, others opt for a system of de-ionization. If you want to go with de-ionizing tanks, you should also try to trade in services. De-I is four times the cost, but brings less than 1.5 gpg hardness.

Culligan Water Services Industryis the largest on-site water supply company in southern California and western states. They offer both sweet and deionized water tanks units. You can on mobile detailer or car wash operator or home delivery can be accepted at the center of Culligan water treatment, if the tanks are mounted trucks. In any case, the employee Culligan tank lift because of liability issues that are created with the customer. Two tanks weigh about 180-250 pounds and a good de-ionized water softener tank weighs150 lbs.

If the tanks are mounted trucks, you need to go to the center because Culligan is not usually of a special program. If you deliver at home, will connect the new tank for you and brings you back to the old tank in their charging system. Sometimes a person Culligan path from the Industrial Services Division is to know the name of a contact of industrial user of deionized or RO. One does not need water they do. You will also know if the userhas a memory and if the tank has a tap.

It 'very important to constantly check to make sure that your supplier of water treatment will give you what you pay for. Occasionally you get a bad tank. It happens most often with de-I as a plasticizer, but both should be monitored.

How do you control?

Well, a swimming pool, a man say that there are two sets of analysis of reading itself and the price is not the only distinguishing feature. If you have the Missouri, the 'Show Me' StateYou might also want to test the kit. For our purposes, we simply want to be your neighbor. If the water is bad, the cars will be washed. But you should test the water before entering the tub. When the water goes in the tank is good, but the cars are spotty or thin, it might be, the tank is crud in it, leaves, dirt, etc. should rinse the tank and see if that solves the problem. Use this method when you wash the tank.

Washing tank

There are two ways toCleaning a tank. The first is easy. Go over to another mobile home detailers. Let your tank and use his / her steam cleaner / pressure washer to blast off. The second option is to go to a pool supply store and a couple of shock treatment, chlorine tablets. This stuff works great. Fill the tank half full with water and drain 1-2 pellets. You should do before going to work with a steam cleaner if you have a hot water unit. Cleaning concrete is the best becauseacid in the shock treatment will also help with the cleaning of the concrete. In any case, you should not wash cars, until water is gone and the other was used with a full tank. If we say no automobiles, means the car wash or even mobile rig details. If you forget and spray a car or a window in the mall, dry it immediately. Everything should be fine. Then throw the towel. Otherwise, these towels on the towel and let others disintegrateWash anything the next day on each machine.

If you notice, to do some 'of algae begins to take a normal size cup from Burger King, is filled to a third party with Clorox and pour it into a full tank should be at the beginning of the working day and take care of it. Do not worry, it will not affect much on the quality of the car wash. It would be in order, especially if you were washing fleets of trucks that day. You can then use the water in the tank using a method called titration or soStrips can be immersed in the bath. Deionized water is much better than water softening systems and a little 'better in the lower part of the reverse osmosis systems, which could buy a mobile detailer, to make water in their work or home. Think about what his strategy is best water for you.

ISL and processing

While ISL mining, water is pumped to the surface of production wells that contain uranium at very low concentrations, the order of parts per million concentrations. The next step in the process of ISL is to extract the uranium-dicarbonate. The extraction takes place through the exchange of ions in a chemical processing plant. "The ion exchange process is very similar to a home Culligan ® water softeners," says Anthony. "It removes the hardness orCalcium from the water, filling it with soda, with ion exchange resins. If you go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a water softener, you have basically a home version of a uranium extraction plant. "The main difference is having your water softener is a cation exchanger." For a uranium plant properly, you need to clarify an anion exchange resin, which was designed to use uranium exposure, "Anthony.

And what this magical "ion exchange resin" is? The resin isconsisting of small polymer beads, the particles are charged anions with an affinity for uranium. "There are literally millions of these tiny resin beads in a jar, can absorb the low concentration of uranium in solution," said Anthony. Adsorption is when something else attracted by something or clinging to them, like static electricity.

Why should the uranium, because this process? "In essence, the ion exchange process is a treatment (reduction) process, focusesconcentrated large amounts of low-grade uranium solution in a volume much smaller with a much higher concentration of uranium, "said Anthony. In other words, the treatment is only the concentration of uranium from large amounts of water they are in a compact reduced form. The preferred method is to ion exchange.

Anthony gave an example from the practice of the treatment process: "Three million gallons of diluted solution Wellfield concentrations of uranium, the100 parts per million less than 0.10 grams / liter, is passed through a bed of ion exchange resin. This could rise to 24 hours when the solution flows to 2,500 gallons per minute. After this period, the resin is loaded with about 2,500 pounds of uranium. "

Stripping of uranium

Stripping of uranium, the process is called elution. This is done through chemical exchange of positive and negative ions. Resins are ranked by the charge on theactive centers. "The active sites on the resin for positive and negatively charged anion to cation resins," Norris enlightens us. "The resin is capable of extracting ions from a chemical solution, which is an active site is derived," he continued. "In our case, the chloride ions from the salt obtained by the usual narrative temporarily stabilize or neutralize the positively charged active site." The negatively charged chloride ion attaches to the side of positive charge, held in place, which Norris called "electrostatic forces." If negatively charged ions such as uranyl dicarbonate are brought into contact with the solution, which will kick off the Chloride and replace it with the uranyl dicarbonate.

This was the chemistry lesson. Anthony took in a few words "is enough to move. There is a higher affinity for chloride ions on the resin for uranium. Thus, the uranium is removed from the resin bed." Treatmentfacility chemically strips the loaded uranium from the resin by soaking the entire package of uranium-laden resin in a salt bath solution. "The volume of salt solution is on the order of 10,000 gallons resulting in a solution concentration of 30 grams/liter uranium," Anthony said, describing the process of how the uranium becomes concentrated. "The stripped uranium solution concentration is magnified 300 times more than the wellfield solution," he informed us. "The concentration level can now be economically processed for recovery: precipitation, dewatering, drying and drumming for a nuclear facility."

GETTING URANIUM INTO THE DRUM

After the uranium has been removed from the solution, it is precipitated. At this point in the processing stage, you have yellowcake slurry. Up close, it looks like a sort of yellowish and wet, runny cement mixture. The dewatering process does just that, it removes the water from the yellowcake mixture.

"I use a filter press, a device that is designed to separate solids from solutions," explained Anthony. Filter presses are extensively used in various types of food, chemical and drug processing across the world. "The uranium solids, now looking more like yellowcake, are retained in the filter press, where they can be washed and later air dried, before drying them to a powder with a low temperature vacuum dryer," said Anthony taking us step by step through this process.

So what is the filter press and how do you end up with the finished yellowcake when you're done? "It's a series of plates and hollow frames, or it could be a series of recessed chambers," Anthony answered. "Filter cloth is draped over the plates or chalked in the recessed chambers. The yellowcake slurry is pumped through the filter allowing the liquid phase to pass through the filter cloth, trapping the uranium oxide inside the device." Anthony likes to pack the filter press up with as much yellowcake as it can hold. "It is then washed with clean water to displace the chloride ions to a low level," Anthony explained. If you don't remove the chloride concentrations to the acceptable level required by an uranium enrichment facility, a fine is assessed against that shipment.

The final steps include conveying the yellowcake to the vacuum dryer. The uranium oxide's color depends on how high or low a temperature is used to dry the "yellowcake." Patrick Drummond, the Smith-Highland Ranch plant superintendent, showed us pure uranium oxide dried at high temperatures. It was nearly black. After the drying process is complete, the uranium is packaged up in DOE-approved 55 gallon drums and transported to an enrichment facility. It is then when the enriched uranium can finally be used to power a nuclear reactor and provide an inexpensive source of electricity.

You know the difference between a water filter and a water softener?

!9# You know the difference between a water filter and a water softener?

Several years ago I moved into a new house in a rural area that has not been delivered by the next municipal water system removed. My source of fresh water is an artesian well. The water is of excellent quality, but it is very hard water. I did not understand the term "hard water" for several years, but finally they are grappling with issues associated with hard water.

I have a Culligan water produced by air conditioning, when I moved into my apartment. I thought it was aWater softener. Everyone is called a water softener and that's what I called it. I am a little 'discouraged with the performance of the system and began a speech. The Culligan system requires the addition of hydrogen peroxide is working properly and I was almost 10 gallons per month. My water was still showing some of the iron and the system pressure was significantly decreased.

I began researching water softeners. To my surprise, was not operating a water softener. It was only a "deluxe waterFilter ". The water was passed through a bed of media, the history of filtered water, but do not soften. I realized at that point that two completely different processes were involved in proper water treatment.

For the best quality water, the water must be filtered and should be "softened." I found that the softening process, dissolved minerals, which can pass through a filter to remove. That the mineral deposits made to my devices such as electric kettles andPorcelain fittings, etc. Also the system of iron is present in various forms. Some iron is actually dissolved in water and passed through a filter. However, it solidifies when it is available. It carries an extensive collection of water heaters.

I chose a simple but high quality cartridge filter and a pellet water softener salt, which are necessary to soften the most optimal. The salt of the plasticizers used do not really give your water supply. I found that onlyThe objective was to wash a special bed media, the physical details, which attracts the minerals like a magnet. Many people are under the misconception that the salt in your water is used - so no.

The bed media requires rinsing at regular intervals to keep working at peak performance. The system will shut down at certain times and shut off the water supply. It then takes the water rises in the bed of the media. This is the accumulated mineralsfrom the press release. And 'all red in your purification system through a connection heating. Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the system opens again and sends fresh water and conditioned water supply again.

This is where I discovered "fresh water". I was amazed. After installing my new filter and air-conditioning, it took about 2 days to completely replace all the water from the kettle and the previous storage system. Well, if I take a bath, the difference is absolutelysurprising. After several years of "hard water", the water was very soft and slippery. It is fresh water. Soap and detergent foams much better can still significantly reduced with better results.

That was my training for water softening and filtering water. There are significant differences between the two processes. I hope this helps someone still has the good fortune to be, with fresh groundwater.
